We offer live performances by musicians based in Nagasaki, along with chef-crafted hors d'oeuvres and finger foods, delivering an extraordinary moment befitting a summer night filled with a wide range of jazz from standard to modern.

■Introduction of the performers

At our Jazz Night, we will welcome musicians based in Nagasaki to perform live music. Each of them possesses rich expressiveness and solid technique, and is a highly skilled musician who can freely play a wide range of jazz, from standards to modern jazz. Experience the immersive atmosphere of live music up close and let it enhance your Jazz Night.

Motoka Oguni / Jazz pianist and composer

Graduated from the music course at Kwassui High School and the piano department of Toho Gakuen College of Music. After performing mainly in the Kanto region, she moved her base of operations to her hometown of Nagasaki in 2001.
In 2002, he performed "Spring Festival," the theme song for the Nagasaki Lantern Festival, and made a live appearance on TBS's "Tetsuya Chikushi News 23." He also appeared on NHK-FM's jazz program "Session" series. He composed the theme song for Nagasaki International Television (NIB Broadcasting)'s evening news program "news every" (from 2006 to the present), and has also composed the theme song for Nagasaki Waterfront Park, the theme suite for the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum, the theme suite for the Nagasaki-Shanghai ferry route, and music for the Nagasaki Ganbaranba National Sports Festival.

In 2020, they performed at the "Samurai Brass Orchestra" regular concert, a community brass band in Nagasaki Prefecture. In May 2022, they were invited to perform Rhapsody in Blue with the Nagasaki Prefectural Higashi High School Brass Band, and in January 2023, with the Sasebo Citizens' Orchestra. In 2024, after the COVID-19 pandemic, they released their 11th album, "To Believe In Your Wish ~ May Peaceful Days Return ~".

In August 2025, he provided music for the NIB Broadcasting Nagasaki Atomic Bombing 80th Anniversary Project, which was performed at the World Conference of Mayors reception. His original compositions, which combine strong compositional skills with catchy melodies, form a unique style that transcends genres and has received high praise. Currently, he is actively performing mainly in Kyushu, while also focusing on composing, online simultaneous live streaming, and teaching aspiring musicians through remote lessons. He is also a part-time lecturer at Koyo High School.

Yujin Tagawa / Bassist

Originally from Nagasaki, he was exposed to various types of music, including jazz, from a young age, influenced by his saxophone-playing father. He discovered the electric bass in high school and the upright bass in college, becoming deeply devoted to jazz. He participated in numerous live performances and recordings while still a student. Since 2013, he has deepened his relationships with many musicians through sessions and live performances in Tokyo. In 2020, he returned to his hometown of Nagasaki and currently performs mainly in Nagasaki and throughout Kyushu.

Hiroichi Tanaka / Bassist

He started playing bass at the age of 14. He actively performs, mainly at Sasebono Oto, the band he owns. His theme is "exhilarating jazz" that brings out the charm of famous songs, and his solid playing style provides strong support for the band from the ground up.

He is renowned for his stoic expression of the worldview inherent in each song, ranging from acoustic to electric. Beyond his performance activities, he is also deeply involved in organizing, planning, and managing live events to enliven the local music scene.
