This hot spring resort is located in the Yufuin Basin, almost in the center of Oita Prefecture. It boasts approximately 900 hot springs, the second-largest number in Japan, and a spring discharge rate of 38,600 liters per minute, the third-largest in Japan. It consists of hot springs such as Takemoto, Ishimatsu, Hachisan, and Otomaru, and together with Yunohira Onsen, it has been designated as a national hot spring resort under the name "Yufuin Onsen."
